Point Reyes National Seashore Association works with 3,500 young people annually to share the wonders of the Seashore. We know from years of experience that the first step in teaching children to care for the land is helping them fall in love with it. Each year, the Young Stewards Scholarship Fund brings 2,000 low-income youth to play, learn and care for the park. Our programs include:
- Week-long overnight summer camp and backpacking programs for children ages 7 to 16
- Overnight environmental education programs for school and community groups, including transportation to the park
- Free family programs
- Coming soon: guided backpacking programs for school groups and family camps!
An Obama administration report found that a key reason why young people feel less inclined to spend time outdoors is because they do not have an adult to guide and inspire them. Help us be that bridge to the next generation of land stewards. With your help we will be able to introduce the magic of the Point Reyes National Seashore to more children. THANK YOU!
